Scientific Games Corporation signed an agreement with Second State Gaming, LLC to provide Bally MultiConnect (BMC) software at 20 truck stop locations throughout the state. Bally Technologies slots achieved widespread popularity in the United States, so its video lottery terminals (VLTs) should prove popular in Pennsylvania.
Scientific Games is installing the BMC systems in 100 games throughout the 20 locations, pending gaming license approvals. If all goes well, Scientific plans its launch in Spring 2019.
Jennifer Caruso, VP of Operations at Second State Gaming, said, “We were thoroughly impressed by Scientific Games’ existing presence in the State of Pennsylvania and their commitment to their systems customers. We are excited to see how the BMC product will give us a competitive advantage in the new Pennsylvania truck stop VLT market.”
The VLT gaming machines are part of newly approved legislation move by Pennsylvania and will push growth of gambling throughout the state. Gov. Tom Wolf signed a gambling bill in October 2017 which approved the VLT gaming in truck stops. The expansion includes setting up gambling terminals in truck stops, but also in airports.
Pennsylvania municipalities have the right to approve or ban gaming in their communities. So far, 1000 of 2500 Pennsylvania municipalities have banned casino and VLT expansion.
