A man outside a Lake Charles, Louisiana casino is charged with 22 counts of criminal damage to property after he walked through the casino parking lot and keyed cars. The man was detained by casino security until deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office at about 10:15 pm on Saturday night. Deputies arrested the man upon arrival.
The man, Isaiah M. Reado, may have gotten lucky that the charges were not more serious. Video surveillance showed he tested the handle on 20 of the cars. Apparently, all 20 automobiles were locked, or he might have entered the vehicle and been charged with attempted larceny or grand theft auto.
Instead, the 29-year old resident of Lake Charles was arrested and posted bond the following day. In the arrest report, Isaiah Reado was described as a resident of 3719 Brentwood Ave in Lake Charles. His bond was set at $44,000. The official charge was “simple criminal damage to property between $500 and $50,000”. Mr. Reado likely did tens of thousands of dollars in damage to cars.
Casino Security Detained Reado
Casino security located Reado in the parking lot, so they detained him and took him to the casino’s security office until a law enforcement official arrived. CPSO Deputy Cpl. Chris Hathaway was the arresting deputy in the casino.
Isaiah Reado was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, where he will stay until his court date. The trial for the 22 charges will take place in the courtroom of Judge Sharon Wilson.

Shooting at Sacramento Casino
On the American West Coast, a shooting happened outside the Parkwest Casino Lotus on Stockton Boulevard on Monday night. Sacracmento police were called by employees at the Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center, which said they had two unidentified shooting victims.
When Officer Matthew McPhail investigated the shooting, he learned that the two people were shoting leaving the parking lot of the Parkwest Casino Lotus. The police officer learned that another person or people in the parkling lot fired shots, then left shortly after.
Victims Not Being Cooperative
Office McPhail collected gun shell casings at the parking lot. Both victims are expected to survive, though they are not cooperating with police. McPhail told the Sacramento Bee, “The victims were not entirely cooperative. We don’t have much information.”
Police did not release much information about the shooting victims, though those with information on the case likely would know about the shooting through friends and family. Given the dearth of information and the lack of cooperation with authorities, the violence might be gang related. It is also possible it was a random shooting and the victims simply have no information to relate.
The police will take a look at the video surveillance of the parking lot, hoping to find license plate information on any cars which left the scene around the time of the shooting. They’ll also view videos of those who left the casino just prior to the shooting, or anyone who might have interacted with the victims while they were inside the casino.
