On March 6, a man from Millstone Township in Monmouth County won the largest IGT jackpot ever in the short history of legal New Jersey online casino gambling. The gambler won an $84,300 jackpot playing online slots at the Borgata Casino on the Internet.
The large payout was won while playing “Monopoly Level Up Plus“, a slot machine produced by International Gaming Technology. IGT software powers the Borgata Online, along with the casinos owned by the Tropicana, the Golden Nugget, Betfair (Trump Plaza Online), PartyPoker, Ultimate Gaming, and Virgin Casino.
The winner declined to be named, making the sensible decision to keep his name anonymous, which is an option when winning big payouts. What is known about the man is he won several smaller payouts on Monopoly Level-Up Plus Slots during his gaming session, before hitting it big with the major payout on the mega bonus jackpot.
Millstone Township
Millstone Township is a town of about 10,000 people, found in Monmouth County in the east-central portion of New Jersey. The township is considered part of the New York Metropolitan Area.
Borgata’s Land-Based Slot Machine Jackpot
Borgata also announced a big winner on one of their land-based slot machines, a Wizard of Oz penny slots game. Emil Ragone of Elizabeth won a $655,852.28 pre-tax jackpot the same day that the biggest online jackpot in licensed New Jersey online casino gaming history was won.
IGT Slots Information
IGT is known for its many licensed slot machines, including Wheel of Fortune, Elvis Slots, Star Wars, and Monopoly Slots, to name a handful. International Gaming Technology also produces the Megabucks Progressive Slots games, which has produced 8 of the top 10 slot machine jackpots of all time.
Eric Tom, IGT VP of Global Sales, said Internetional Gaming Technology is excited to provide a large jackpot for one of New Jersey’s new online gamblers. Mr. Tom said, “We are thrilled to celebrate the largest IGT interactive jackpot win to date in New Jersey. IGT’s cross–platform content is boosting players’ excitement, and we look forward to delivering even more thrills with more games to come.”
In discussing the latest jackpot winner, Borgata’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Joe Jupo, touched on his casino’s ongoing work alongside IGT. Jupo said, “We have been delighted with IGT’s integration of their slots to the BorgataCasino.com platform. Obviously, our customers have benefited from this great partnership as we continue to offer the best land-based and online experience anywhere in the region.”
Big Jackpot Win on Going Nuts Slots
Borgata Online has the most gamblers playing for real money of the New Jersey iGaming websites, so it’s more likely to have big money winners. In January, another Monmouth County man won a large jackpot worth $153,000 while playing online at the Borgata website.
The man on that occasion won playing “Going Nuts”. The anonymous winner was a 29 year old player who remained anonymous, but was quoted about his win: “I’ve been coming to Borgata to play poker and black jack with my friends since I turned 21. It was really cool to win online but I will definitely be returning to Atlantic City soon.”
Going Nuts Slots is a progressive jackpot game designed by the software engineers at bwin.Party. Their company is partnering with the Borgata Casino in the newly-regulated online casino gaming industry, which is meant to raise additional revenues for the State of New Jersey while also helping the Atlantic City casino survive by creating more revenue streams.
More Jackpots to Come
These are just the first of many. As more players gamble online at the Atlantic City casino websites, the frequency of the hit jackpots should increase. The size of the pots won should increase, as well. The more slot machine gamblers there are, the more likely someone is to win. The more gamblers play the progressive or accumulated jackpot games, the faster the pot increases. Readers should expect to hear more announcements over the next year–and more records to fall–both at Borgata Online and its various competitors’ websites.
