Noiq Poker ended its six year run as one of the most player friendly online poker rooms. After giving away millions of dollars in promotions to players through the years, Noiq Poker closed its doors on November 7, 2012.
It all started in September when iGame Malta Limited, the parent company of Noiq Poker, announced that they would be leaving the IGT Poker Network. IGT Poker announced on the same day that the network, once known as Entraction, would close its doors in December 2012. iGame Malta Limited also owns the former IGT Poker skin 24hPoker. Players on Noiq Poker were migrated to 24hPoker, which in turn moved to the Microgaming Poker Network.
24hPoker players will also have access to Fast Poker. It is a fast playing platform that is similar to Rush Poker, made famous by Full Tilt Poker. This enables players to move to a new table after folding instead of waiting for the hand to end to get dealt cards. This provides players with the ability to play up to four times as many hands per hour.
This is the third network for Noiq Poker players. Noiq Poker once resided on the iPoker Network. The poker room drew the ire of the network by offering players promotions that were higher than the network allowed. This included giving players rakeback. Noiq Poker was forced off of the iPoker Network and moved to the network that would later become IGT Poker.
Player funds are completely safe. This situation is nothing more than a retirement of the Noiq Poker brand. iGame Malta decided to focus its marketing efforts on just one brand. Players will not notice any difference in player support or withdrawal speeds. The only difference will be in the game selection.
Pokerscout.com reported that IGT Poker lost 60% of its traffic overnight due to the loss of Noiq Poker and 24hPoker. Tuesday’s cash game traffic peaked at 346 players. Poker Scout reported that IGT Poker peaked at just 141 players on Wednesday. This is down nearly 90% in the past year and down 75% since the September announcement that the network would close in December.
All is not lost for IGT Poker. The company has been approved as an online poker service provider by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The software used by IGT Poker will be used in Nevada and other future regulated states. Online poker is not live in Nevada yet but is likely to launch in 2013.
