The Vegas Stats & Information Network (VSiN) signed a deal with the New York Post to provide sports betting news to the Post, which is the 4th-largest US newspaper. The New York Post has a readership of 57 million readers, so the deal raises VSiN’s visibility significantly.
Since the ban on sports betting in the United States was lifted back in May, news and social media platforms have discussed about all things sports gambling.
Once the Supreme Court handed down with the sports betting ruling, VSiN announced their partnership with 670 “The Score” in Chicago, 101 ESPN in St. Louis, the horse racing broadcaster TVG, and Cheddar, a streaming financial news platform geared towards the millennial.
VSiN, most associated with Brent Musberger to this point, also signs a deal with respected radio industry executive Dan Mason, who is an investor and strategic advisor.
VSiN/New York Post Partnership
However, most recently the sports betting content company have announced their partnerships with the New York Post and will provide the news source with two feature-length articles each week. VSiN goes live seven days a week broadcasting from its South Point Casino studio in Las Vegas.
The partnership will provide VSiN with a daily presence in the Post, while filming two spots a week. Those spots will be featured on Tuesday’s and Friday’s.
VSiN Founder and Chairman Brent Musburger credited three individuals — COO Bill Adee, VSiN content contributors Jeff Fogle, and Amal Shah — for making the deal. Musburger said their hard work helped to make the partnership happen.
Brent Musburger, Columnist
VSiN lead personality Brent Musburger is to be one of the regular columnists for the post. Musburger is an iconic sports play-by-play broadcaster who left ESPN back in January of 2017 in order to move his focus towards the sports gambling network. Brent Musburger has been in broadcasting since the 1970s, when he was the host of NFL Today on CBS.
Those of a younger generation know Brent Musburger from his long years covering NCAA football. Now Musburger has transitioned to gambling, a hobby of his for decades. He used his first New York Post column to introduce Post readers to the process of placing a bet on professional baseball. The VSiN founder discussed proposition bets, and how there are more bets offered than that you would find with the traditional moneyline bet.
His column singles out predictions on World Series odds, which player will end the regular season with the most home runs, and who he believes will win the AL and NL MVP awards.
Musburger explained the appeal of sports betting, saying, “The point of all this is that there are many ways to enjoy the baseball season outside of the daily grind.”
Brent Musburger, Gambling Expert
Brent Musburger was colleagues with Jimmy the Greek during his NFL Today tenure — and famously had a bar brawl with the controversial handicapper. During his college sports broadcasting days, Musburger was known for tendency to reference point spreads and over/unders during his live broadcasts of college football and basketball games.
At this time, sports betting was illegal outside of Nevada, so Mushburger’s superiors at ESPN were not fans of his habits. Those association with college and pro sports were supposed to maintain the illusion that viewers did not bet on games.
Vegas Stats & Information Network (VsiN)
Since he founded VsiN, Musburger no longer has to worry about such things. The Las Vegas based company is a national sports gambling news network. VSiN’s lead on-air personality is hall of fame broadcaster Brent Musburger.
Musburger anchors a weekday program called “My Guys in the Desert,” which refers to his indirect gambling references during his time with ESPN in which he left in January of 2017.
VsiN launched in February 2017 and reports on sports odds from Las Vegas sportsbooks and analyzes how the odds are made. They broadcast live daily from Las Vegas and can be found SiriusXM Channel 204 as well as on its website and social channels.
Other on-air hosts for VSiN are Mitch Moss, Pauly Howard, Gill Alexander, Ron Flatter, Matt Youmans, Jonathan Von Tobel, Sam Panayotovich and Amal Shah. VSiN also employs oddsmakers Jimmy Vaccaro, Vinny Magliulo and Chris Andrews.

With the legalized of sports betting and as more and more states across the nation get on board with it, it is bound to happen where more media outlets will look to incorporate coverage into their mediums.
NY Post sports director Chris De Luca said, “We will be taking the heightened interest in sports gambling into consideration as we plan coverage each day. The growth in sports gambling will mean a growing interest in the sports news that means the most to those gamblers.”
